The mission of the Sparta Fire Protection District (SFPD) Cadet Program is to provide safe, effective and relevant firefighter training in an environment that emphasizes self-discipline, pride, teamwork, and community service.

Students receive training from teachers including lead instructors at the headquarters station each week throughout the year.

The program is open to students ages fourteen to eighteen. Cadet training offers them a unique opportunity to explore an interest in pursuing a career in the fire service.
